Newly constructed in 1996 in Oglesby, Illinois, and nestled on 14 acres within the confines of Mattiessen State Park, the Inn was built to resemble a vintage farmhouse complete with verandah and rocking chairs. The Inn will provide you with a peaceful and luxurious amid the beauty of nature. A full complimentary breakfast is provided with each room, and gourmet dining is available Thursday through Sunday in the dining room. The Brightwood Inn's conference room can be reserved for small business luncheons, meetings and private occasions. The Inn is equipped with a fax machine, copier, printer, and private phone lines that can be used during meetings or by our business travelers. The library has a collection of books, games, complimentary beverages and snacks. Videotapes are available at the check-in desk. The Inn is perfect for small weddings, banquets, receptions, showers, or family or class reunions.<br><br>
The Brightwood Inn has eight beautiful guest rooms, each featuring it's own unique personality and style. Every room features a gas fireplace, private bathroom, satellite TV & VCR, telephone and beautiful view. The entire Inn is non-smoking. Most rooms have large two person hot tubs or Jacuzzi suites, and some have private balconies. All guests get a full complimentary breakfast in the morning that includes coffee and juice, breads, cereal, fresh fruit, and a hot entree.<br><br> |

| Area Attractions
Outside the Inn, guests may hike the many scenic trails of Matthiessen, Starved Rock and Buffalo Rock State Parks that are in the area. Guests can rent a horse at the Starved Rock Stables and ride the State Park trails. The Illinois & Michigan Canal offers miles of hiking and biking trails. Many golf courses are located near the Inn and we will be happy to reserve a tee time for you. Water sports such as rafting, canoeing, fishing and boating are available on the Illinois, Vermillion and Fox Rivers. During the winter months, Matthiessen Park rents cross-country skis and has miles of skiing trails. You can enjoy the many activities the parks sponsor almost every weekend or shop for antiques along the countryside or in the nearby towns. Naturalists will enjoy the many species of flora and fauna both on our 14 acres of land and in the nearby parks. |

2407 North Illinois Route 178, Oglesby, IL - Chicago O'Hare International Airport: Depart airport going northeast. Merge onto I-190 East. Merge onto I-294 South via Exit 1D toward Indiana. Merge onto I-55 South towards St. Louis. Then merge onto I-80 West via Exit 250 B towards Des Moines. Take the IL-178 exit - Exit 81 - toward Utica. Turn left onto IL-178/East 8th Road/CR-43. Continue to follow IL-178. Turn right onto IL-178/Clark Street. Continue to follow IL-178. End at the property. |
